WordPress Category Based Image with Custom URL

Assign an image and custom URL to each WordPress category, and display the category image automatically or using a shortcode. This plugin helps you set images for each category individually and display them wherever needed.

The category image to appear after the middle paragraph instead of before the content

If your post has 6 paragraphs:

Paragraph 1

Install

1. Go to Categories

• Login to WordPress Admin
• Go to Posts → Categories

2. Add/Edit Category

• Click Add New Category, or click Edit on an existing category.

3. Add Category Image

• Find Category Image
• Click Select Image
• Select an image from the Media Library
• Click Use This Image

4. Add Custom URL

• Find Category URL
• Enter your custom URL.

Example:

https://example.com/my-custom-page/

• For a new category → click Add New Category
• For an existing category → click Update

6. Add Image Using Shortcode

In your post/page, add:

[category_image]

[category_image size="large"]

To make the image open your custom Category URL in a new tab, use:

[category_image size="large" link="yes"]

You do not need to add the shortcode if you want the image automatically before the post content.
